Where You Stay
A residence at Millerton, not a ward down the hall
Recovery is hard enough without fluorescent lighting. Our residential property sits at Millerton Lake, the Sierra foothills above Fresno, on the San Joaquin River at Millerton Lake — a place where the day starts with light coming off the water and ends with the foothills going quiet.
This is the setting that makes the work possible. You wake up somewhere that doesn’t look like the life you’re trying to leave behind. Between sessions there is open air and enough room to think — the kind of quiet that makes hard conversations a little easier to have.
Admissions is in Fresno. The residence is at Millerton. One call covers both — free, confidential, answered 24/7.

Frequently Asked Questions
Nothing here is a commitment. If your question isn't answered, ask us directly — we'd rather talk it through than leave you guessing.
How do I know if it’s time to get help?
If you’ve been quietly wondering, that’s usually answer enough. You don’t need a rock bottom, a DUI, or a dramatic story to deserve support — just the sense that drinking is taking more than it gives. Call us and talk it through. It’s free, it’s confidential, and nothing is decided on that first call except that you were brave enough to make it.
What actually happens when I call?
A real person picks up — usually someone who has sat where you’re sitting. We’ll ask a few questions about what’s been going on, check your insurance if you have it, and talk honestly about what care could look like for you. No pressure, no sales pitch. You’ll hang up knowing your options and exactly what the next step is.
What will treatment feel like day to day?
Steadier than you might expect. Your days have structure — individual sessions, group work, and return-to-use prevention. But underneath the schedule it’s mostly people, telling the truth, in a room where nobody flinches. That’s where the change tends to start.
Will my insurance cover this?
Often, yes. We work with Aetna, Cigna, TRICARE, TriWest, and many other plans. Give us a few minutes and we’ll verify your benefits and tell you in plain language what’s covered and what isn’t — before you commit to anything. If insurance isn’t an option, we’ll talk through other ways to make it work.
I’m scared of detox. What is it really like?
Being scared is normal — early withdrawal is often what people fear most. We are not a psychiatric hospital; if you need specialized mental health or medical care beyond our SUD scope, we help connect you with the right referrals.
I’ve tried treatment before and it didn’t stick.
Then you already know more than someone walking in for the first time. Returning to use isn’t failure — it’s information about what your recovery still needs. Many of the people here tried somewhere else first. We’ll look honestly at what fell apart last time and build a plan around your actual life: your triggers, your schedule, your people.
Can I keep working and be there for my family?
For many people, yes. Life doesn’t pause because you decided to get better, so we plan around your job, your kids, and your responsibilities wherever we can. And it’s worth saying plainly: getting help now usually protects those things. Waiting is what tends to cost them.
What happens after I leave treatment?
Discharge is a transition, not a cutoff. Before you leave, we talk through aftercare, support networks, and practical next steps so you’re not walking out without a plan. Many people continue with outpatient support, community meetings, and check-ins — we’ll help you map what fits your life.
Where do clients actually stay?
At our residential property on Millerton Lake, in the foothills above the Valley. Clients do not stay at the Fresno office; that address is where admissions, planning, and outpatient appointments happen.
How far is the residential property from Fresno?
About 25 minutes northeast of our admissions office — far enough to step out of the old routine, close enough that family can still visit and that Fresno never feels like another world. Call and we’ll walk you through the drive, what a typical week looks like, and what to bring.
What areas do you serve?
Our admissions office is in Fresno at 4576 E Shields Ave, and clients stay at our residential property on Millerton Lake. We serve families across the Central Valley — including Clovis, Madera, Visalia, Tulare, Selma, Reedley, and nearby communities. Distance shouldn’t keep you from a conversation about care.
What if I’m not ready yet?
Then call anyway. Almost nobody feels ready — readiness usually shows up after the first conversation, not before it. You can ask questions, hear what’s possible, and walk away to think about it. We’ll still be here.
